Leading at the Edge of Complexity Forum with CFA Victoria

Last week saw Risk-e Business and Country Fire Authority Victoria combine to provide a forum on 'Leading at the Edge of Complexity'.

We produced facilitator guides, Powerpoint packs and participant workbooks to take participants on a journey of diagnosing systems tensions, recognising behaviour under pressure and designing deliberate leadership experiments.

Each session was anchored in one real leadership challenge they were currently facing. They were asked to diagnose the issue without jumping to a solution and then capture one or two practical changes that they can 'test' in the fortnight after the forum.

We had a great day with all participants giving freely of their ideas and stepping outside their comfort zones. The complexity scenario they faced was not fire based so they had to exercise framing, prioritising and leading under ambiguity.
